Premium Architectural Metals

For specialty projects and highly refined architectural designs, Stratacraft offers a curated selection of premium architectural metals and custom finishes. These materials are ideal for statement pieces and design-forward applications where material character, craftsmanship, and finish are central to the design intent.

Powder Coating

Stratacraft offers a comprehensive range of powder coat finishes, including color-matched custom coatings to seamlessly complement surrounding architectural elements.

Our standard finishes meet or exceed the AAMA 2604 specification for exceptional durability and long-term performance, resisting weathering, chalking, fading, impact, and chemical exposure. For projects requiring the highest level of exterior performance, premium AAMA 2605 finishes are also available.

Finishes are available in gloss, matte, textured, hammered, and metallic options.

Living Finishes

Stratacraft offers three types of "living finishes," oxidized zinc patina (aluminum), pre-weathered rust patina (corten steel), and pre-patinated verdigris (copper).

Living finishes are organic, evolving surface treatments created by applying natural oxidizing agents through a series of controlled steps. These treatments trigger a chemical reaction within the material itself, producing the intended coloration and texture. Because the finish is alive, it will continue to mature as it responds to sunlight, moisture, and surrounding environmental conditions such as humidity.

This initial treatment process simply sets the stage—once the product is placed outdoors, the surface continues to transform as it interacts with the elements. Unlike powder coating or painted finishes, which remain largely unchanged over time, living finishes are intentionally dynamic. Their appearance can shift with handling and touch.

Our living finish products are delivered with the finish newly developed, so variations in tone, pattern, and texture are expected at first. As the material acclimates to its environment, these contrasts begin softening within days. Over time, the surface settles into a more consistent color range and characteristically irregular texture.

For those who want to help speed up this early blending process, periodically wetting the planters and allowing them to dry between applications can encourage the living finish to evolve more quickly.

Stainless Steel Finishes

Stratacraft offers a curated range of stainless steel finishes designed to complement both modern and traditional architectural styles. Each finish delivers a distinct visual character while enhancing the durability and refinement of the underlying material.

• Brushed: A linear, satin-like surface created by controlled abrasion, offering a soft sheen with visible directional grain.
• Polished: A smooth, highly reflective surface achieved through fine buffing, delivering a mirror-like appearance.
• Non-Directional: A uniform, swirl-patterned finish with no visible grain direction, providing consistent texture from every angle.
• Blackened: A chemically treated, darkened surface that adds depth and character while maintaining the steel's natural texture.

Brass Finishes

• Brushed: A linear, satin-like surface created by controlled abrasion, offering a warm metallic sheen with a refined directional grain.
• Polished: A smooth, highly reflective surface achieved through fine buffing, delivering a brilliant mirror-like appearance with exceptional visual depth.
• Antique: A chemically aged finish that enhances the natural warmth of brass, creating rich brown and golden tones with timeless character.
• Blackened: A chemically treated, darkened surface that deepens the color of the brass while preserving its natural texture and metallic character.

Bronze Finishes

• Brushed: A linear, satin-like surface created by controlled abrasion, producing a refined finish with subtle directional grain and understated elegance.
• Antique: A chemically aged finish that accentuates the natural richness of bronze, producing warm brown tones with classic architectural appeal.
• Oil-Rubbed: A darkened architectural finish that enriches the bronze with deep brown tones and subtle highlights, creating a sophisticated, low-luster appearance.
• Blackened: A chemically treated, darkened surface that intensifies the bronze's appearance while maintaining its natural texture and depth.
